AEE Huntsville Chapter September 26
President's Report

Members and Guests,
We have completed another successful World Energy Conference! This year’s conference was held in Orlando, Florida, at the Orange County Convention Center, and once again, our Huntsville Chapter was well represented.
Our chapter continues to shine, just as it has in years past, because of the involvement and support of our members. Your participation in our monthly meetings, support of our Board, and commitment to AEE make everything we accomplish possible. Thank you to all of our current chapter members for your continued involvement and support.
On Tuesday, during the Chapter Leadership and Awards meeting, we were especially excited to see Kelley Whalen receive the 2026 Best Chapter Leader Award! As many of you know, Kelley has faithfully served our chapter for many years and continues to provide outstanding leadership. We are also proud that he will be moving into the Regional Vice President role beginning in 2027. Congratulations, Kelley!
Tuesday also included the presentation of the Regional Awards. As Chapter President and a member of the Trane team that submitted the project for consideration, I had the privilege of accepting an award on behalf of Freedom Real Estate and Properties, LLC, which received the Energy Project of the Year Award for its energy-efficiency project completed in partnership with Trane Technologies. It was great to see a local project and the work behind it recognized at the regional level.
Wednesday evening featured the International Awards Banquet, where individuals and organizations from around the world were recognized for their accomplishments. One thing that stood out during the evening was how many recipients expressed sincere appreciation for the family members, coworkers, team members, and friends who supported them along the way. It was a great reminder that very few accomplishments happen because of one person alone.
The Expo also opened Wednesday and welcomed thousands of attendees from around the world. It is always a positive and interesting experience to meet others in our industry who are looking to grow professionally, exchange ideas, and expand their knowledge. Between the exhibitors, new technologies, technical breakout sessions, and conversations with other professionals, there was a tremendous amount of information available to bring back and share.
As we all know, much of what we accomplish professionally would not be possible without teamwork and the support of our families, coworkers, and friends. The AEE Huntsville Chapter Board hopes that our chapter provides that same type of support to each of you. We sincerely appreciate every member and will continue working to provide relevant monthly topics, networking opportunities, and educational programs that help all of us grow our careers and expand our knowledge.

Welcome New Members

If you have recently joined the AEE Huntsville Chapter and sent your chapter dues in via the AEE renewal process, then you will be added to our email list as soon as AEE sends us the updated list of paid members. This may take a couple of months to get pushed through the system and added to the website. Please be patient, and feel free to remind us if you need to be added at our next monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of each month.
We are excited that you have joined and look forward to networking with you at our meetings and learning as much from you as you hopefully learn from others in the chapter.
As always, let us know if you have any questions or ideas for our chapter.
Community Service

Our CEM class scheduled for April 2027 is one of our fund raising events our chapter uses to gain the funds to support our local community through sponsoring events and providing scholarships to local schools.
Please make sure you contact one of the board members if you are aware of any upcoming events or worthy organizations that we can support to help grow our boundaries. We are always looking for new and additional ways to encourage today's youth to explore our industry as a potential career path.
